That's Pretty SICK isn't it... considering how many people in the world are freezing and hungry, it seems so wasteful to just toss away perfectly good items doesn't it?
I used to work at a Canadian Department store and we used to toss out non-perishable food items, sometimes even before their expiry date (i.e. boxes of crackers and other similar things) I always thought... if I was starving, I would't care if the box of crackers was ONE DAY past it's best before date. Not that I'm saying we should feed people expired stuff, but I think that if I was down on my luck and had nothing else, I'd seriously consider eating a box of Ritz crackers, even if it was a month past it's date. It felt wasteful to rip open each box and dump the contents into the trash. I asked if I could take a few home (we could have eaten them) I was told no.
I agree with ya... tossing clothing! totally awful.
That is so sad, Moe....I had no idea that was going on. What a sin!
They should start shipping some of that stuff down to Haiti....I have a feeling it would get much use. If they donated it, they could probably write it off as simply as when they trash it.
I dont get it...sigh....
Sorry about what your bird did. But glad to see you back on your blog. I will hope this year will be a good one for you too!
