Okay I have to admit I tried to knit, YES knit, last night. I had needles from a kit I bought a while ago. I used worsted weight yarn and 6mm needles. I didn't do to bad, was doing that stockinette stitch, how ever you spell it. The only thing is....if I lose a stitch I am soooo FU*KED!! I know...your laughing at me, but that's okay....so am I. LOL I can not figure out how to pick up a lost stitch. And ya know there aren't any videos or charts or anything on what to do if you drop one. I think I may need to take a class. Ugh!
Not that I don't want to take one, but I get the evil eye if I try and go outside the house without Shade. Don't ask.
There is a nice store called Creativefibers.com I've been in there once about a year ago. I LOVED all the yarns and things. I've never used higher end yarns other then what AC Moore or Joanns has! :)

man, i sat down a couple of weeks ago and thought that i would 'teach myself to knit'. needles to say, i was in tears with frustration! i thought there are videos and instructions and i've worked with yarn so it might work its self out -NOT!
i don't want to take classes either so i might have to forget about it for a while. did you use books? you get as far as to lose a stitch - lucky!
